History
EM Motorsport is an independent company established in 2003 and for a while were the sole agents for the distribution of Magneti Marelli Motorsport products for the UK, USA & Japanese Markets. In 2005 after closing the activity with Magneti Marelli, EM Motorsport started to develop safety devices in Motorsport. The excellence of its products is underlined by its success in many championships on both domestic and international levels.
The FIA commissioned EM Motorsport to develop the SDR (Surveillance Data Recorder) in 2003 which was later improved and used with the ADR (Accident Data Recorder) on every F1 car.
In 2006 the FIA commissioned EM Motorsport to develop the F1 Marshalling System. This system has been used on all F1 cars since 2007 and is a significant milestone for the improvement of safety in F1.
The F1 Marshalling System is a flagship product for EM Motorsport as it is a complex product utilizing cutting edge technology. EM Motorsport has also developed a Race Series Marshalling System (currently used in GP2) and an Electronic Flag System for fixed circuit installation. All products commercialized and supported by EM Motorsport have been developed in co-operation with its Italian partner, the ART Group (www.artgroup-srl.it).
Thanks to the capabilities of the ART Group in digital signal processing and RF technology, EM Motorsport has developed high technology products in Motorsport aimed at improving safety.
EM Motorsport is currently in the process of developing a new range of Motorsport products which are designed to deliver high technology at an affordable price.
